Plastic Drum Recycling Program

Hauthaway has adopted 55-gallon plastic drums as the standard container to deliver it's polyurethane dispersions. This change is the result of the careful review of a number of factors including package durability (for product protection), domestic and international package uniformity, and environmental impact (recycle-ability vs. fiber drums).

Hauthaway's choice of a reduced impact container is consistent with the company's focus on developing "green" polymer solutions for the coatings and adhesives industries.

National Recycling Program The program, managed by Mauser Corp., is a simple, user-friendly service. The details of the program are shown below.

  • Emptying Requirements - Containers must be emptied of all flow-able material so that the container is “drip dry” in accordance with Federal Regulations (40 CFR 261.7). Containers must be sealed and labeled as if full. Original shipping labels are acceptable.
  • Pick-up Scheduling/Minimum Quantities - Containers must be part of an official Mauser recycling program to qualify for this service. All acceptable drums exhibit a Mauser label with contact information. A minimum of 20 drums is required for pick-up.
  • Fill-out and Fax the Recollect Form - Complete the Mauser Recollect form and fax to (630) 654-3859. A customer service representative will process the information and return a bill of lading for signature within 24 hours. Pick-up of the drums will be scheduled within 10 business days.
