DESCRIPTION:Soft, fire retardant, aliphatic, low VOC, water-borne urethane dispersion.
SUGGESTED USES:HD-2303 was designed for use as a coating or finish for synthetic textile fabrics that must have permanent flame retardancy. Low add-on levels of HD-2303 will enable synthetic fabrics to pass various FR tests including NFPA-701, MVSS-302, & others. HD-2303 is well suited for use in textile coatings, such as automotive upholstery, that require outstanding strength and flame retardancy without the use of antimony-oxide/decabrome chemistry. Using HD-2303, a coating can be formulated to pass MVSS-302 and maintain required strength properties at a much lower coating weight than conventional coatings. This results in a much softer hand and possible cost savings. Due to its aliphatic composition, excellent UV resistance is also exhibited.
CHARACTERISTICS:
- Permanent, non-leaching flame retardancy
- Low VOC
- Excellent cost/performance ratio
- Soft, tough, flexible, dry film
- Excellent UV Resistance
- Excellent low temperature flexibility
- Very good abrasion resistance
APPLICATION:Spray or pad -- solids may be adjusted for optimum add-on.
May be thickened with HA-921 for knife coating.
CURING:Excellent strength properties as supplied.
Melamine-formaldehyde (3 - 6 phr) provides improved performance.
