DESCRIPTION:Co-solvent free, soft, flame-retardant, aliphatic, water-borne polyurethane dispersion.
SUGGESTED USES:HD-2333 was designed for use as a coating or finish for synthetic textile fabrics that must have permanent flame-retardancy (FR). This unique urethane dispersion is manufactured at high solids and without the use of solvent. Low add-on levels of HD-2333 will enable synthetic fabrics to pass various FR tests including NFPA-701, MVSS-302 and others. HD-2333 is well suited for use in textile coatings, such as automotive upholstery, that require outstanding strength and flame-retardancy without the use of antimony-oxide/decabrome chemistry. Using HD-2333, a coating can be formulated to pass MVSS-302 and maintain required strength properties at a much lower coating weight than conventional coatings. This results in a much softer hand and possible cost savings. The high solids and solvent-free nature of HD-2333 make it a very cost effective urethane.
CHARACTERISTICS:
- Co-solvent free and high solids
- Permanent, non-leaching flame-retardancy
- Soft, tough, flexible, dry film
- Excellent UV resistance
- Excellent low temperature flexibility and crack resistance
APPLICATION:Spray or pad -- solids may be adjusted for optimum add-on.
May be thickened with HA-900 for knife coating.
CURING:Excellent strength properties as supplied. Melamine-formaldehyde crosslinkers, such as HA-808 (3 - 6 phr), will provide improved performance.
