DESCRIPTION:A hard, aromatic, economical, co-solvent free, aqueous polyurethane dispersion.
SUGGESTED USES:HD-3016 was designed for topcoat applications on a wide variety of substrates, including concrete, metal, plastic and wood. HD-3016 is the best candidate for price-sensitive, performance-oriented applications where UV yellowing can be tolerated.
CHARACTERISTICS:
- Contains no co-solvent
- Most economical grade
- Outstanding water and chemical resistance
- High melting point
- Aromatic - Will yellow with UV and or heat exposure.
APPLICATION:HD-3016 can be used as a sole vehicle or blended with acrylic emulsions for spray, dip, or rotogravure applications. It can be thickened with associative thickeners for alternative application methods.
CURING:Due to the co-solvent free nature of HD-3016, the addition of coalescing solvent is recommended to achieve optimal film formation. In ambient-cured systems the addition of 5-10% coalescing solvent is suggested. Less coalescing solvent is required in heat-cured systems to attain comparable film properties. Typical drying temperatures and dwell times for aqueous coatings are sufficient to optimize film characteristics.
