DESCRIPTION: A hard, NMP-free, aliphatic, polyester polyurethane dispersion.
SUGGESTED USES: L-2875 was designed for topcoat applications on a wide variety of substrates, including concrete, metal, plastic and wood.
CHARACTERISTICS:
- Contains DMM co-solvent
- Produces clear, durable films with low levels of co-solvent (<100 g/l)
- Excellent non-yellowing properties
- Good water and chemical resistance
- Produces tough, abrasion and mar resistant films
APPLICATION: L-2875 can be used as supplied or blended with acrylic emulsions for spray, dip or rotogravure applications. It can be thickened with associative thickeners for knife-over-roll or similar methods.
CURING: Due to the co-solvent free nature of L-2875, the addition of coalescing solvent is recommended to achieve optimal film formation. In ambient-cured systems the addition of 5-10% coalescing solvent is suggested. Less coalescing solvent is required in heat-cured systems to attain comparable film properties. Typical drying temperatures and dwell times for aqueous coatings are sufficient to optimize film characteristics.
