Hauthane L-3101

DESCRIPTION: A very hard, NMP-free/APEO-free, polycarbonate-based, aliphatic, waterborne polyurethane dispersion.

SUGGESTED USES: L-3101 was developed for general coatings use where exceptional resistance to hydrolysis, oxidation and UV degradation is required. L-3101 is ideally suited for exterior applications where film durability and longevity are important considerations.

CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Superior chemical and stain resistance
  • Excellent exterior weathering durability
  • Excellent humidity resistance
  • Contains dipropylene glycol diimethyl ether co-solvent

APPLICATION: L-3101 may be used as a sole vehicle or blended with acrylic emulsions for application by conventional or air-assisted spray equipment. It may be thickened with associative thickeners to attain desired application rheology.

CURING: L-3101 may be air dried at ambient temperatures with the addition of 7 – 8% DPnB coalescing solvent. For thermal curing 5–7% DPnB co-solvent addition is recommended. Typical oven drying temperatures and dwell times for aqueous coatings are sufficient to produce optimal film properties.
