Hauthane 38H

DESCRIPTION:38H is a solvent based, acid-free rubber cement for temporary and permanent bonding. This flammable adhesive is brush viscosity and can be used to provide clear, flexible bonds to a wide variety of substrates.

SUGGESTED USES:38H can be used to make wrinkle-free paper and cardboard bonds for typical school, home and office applications. It can also be used for temporary mounting of artwork and photos to paper, glass, wood, plastics, blackboards and painted walls.

CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Both liquid and vapors are extremely flammable
  • Swallowing the liquid or inhaling the vapors is harmful
  • Dry film has surface tack
  • Dry film can be rubbed off most surfaces
  • Dry film will become yellow after prolonged exposure to sunlight.

APPLICATION:38H can be applied by brush or dauber. Apply a thin coat to one surface and press the coated surface to the second substrate to make complete contact. Pull the substrates apart for 60 seconds or until the adhesive does not transfer to the finger. Press the substrates together again and hold until the substrates do not slide or move when pressure is released. The adhesive can also be applied in a thin coat to both substrates. The adhesive should be dried until it does not transfer to the finger. The substrates can then be pressed to together.

DRYING CYCLE: 38H dries very quickly when applied in a thin coat (1 to 2 mils wet). Heavy coatings will skin and form a bubble. This will retard drying and adhesion.
